UP ATS arrests two people from Deoband for having "terrorist ties."

Lucknow (The Hawk): Two people were detained by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) in Deoband, in the Saharanpur district, for their alleged ties to the JMB and AQIS terror organisations (Jamat-ul Mujahideen, Bangladesh).

The names of the two suspects were discovered during the questioning of those previously detained in this matter, prompting their transportation from Saharanpur to Lucknow.

According to an ATS news release, the couple has been identified as Aash Mohammed, 28, a Deoband native, and Mohd Haris, 23, a Haridwar resident who presently resides in Deoband.

The two were detained, according to Prashant Kumar, ADG (law and order) of the Uttar Pradesh Police, because of their claimed connections to two organisations that support terrorism in the nation.

Eight people were previously detained for their alleged affiliations with the AQIS and the JMB, including Lukman, Shahzad, Kari Mukhtar, Mudassar, Kamil, Ali Noor, Nawazish Ansari, and Mohd Aleem. The names of the two detained now were discovered in information gleaned from the other eight, he continued.
